"Can't we just rip it up and throw it away?!?"

I haven't blogged in FOREVER! I've been super busy with work and trying to get a routine down now that Little Dude has started school.

Speaking of school...Little Dude absolutely loves it! He did get in trouble on the second day of school. That happened pretty quickly, huh? At his school they each start the school day with 3 sticks on their desks. If you're not listening you get a warning. If you continue to not listen you get a stick taken away and lose a few minutes of recess time. If you still don't listen you forfeit recess and yet another stick....if it happens a 3rd time you lose your final stick and you have to visit the principal and your parents are called.

So, I pick Trav up from school on the second day, we get home and I start going through his backpack. I pull out a white slip of paper and he instantly starts crying. The paper basically says that Travis lost 1 stick because he wasn't listening. I could barely understand him when I asked why he got in trouble because he was crying SO hard! He told me that he got in trouble for shouting out answers and not raising his hand. He had to tell me what he would do differently next time, we had to write that down on the paper, we both had to sign it and he had to bring it back to his teacher. This upset him even more and he begged..."Can we PLEASE just rip it up and throw it away?!?". He wasn't thrilled when I told him that we had to give it back to his teacher. It really was sad to see him that upset.

Needless to say, Little Dude learned his lesson and he hasn't lost a stick since! He's had 3 weeks in a row where he kept ALL of his sticks EVERY day. I'm very proud of him for learning his lesson!
