Heebie Jeebies!!!!! Yikes!
Aw, man! It's that time of year again....scorpion season. I was just saying how great it was that I hadn't seen any scorpions in the house. And, I was feeling good because we just had the exterminator out to spray. Well, last night I was walking into the bedroom and I saw something out of the corner of my eye....a freakin' scorpion! He was scurrying as fast as he could from the walk-in closet to the bathroom. I'm amazed I even saw him because all the lights were off and I only had a candle lit in the bedroom...(brownchickenbrowncow). I was talking to Tim on the phone when I saw him and I literally freaked out. He was hollering at me to grab a shoe and to kill it already, and I kept hollering that I couldn't and I was heebie jeebied out....I finally worked up enough courage and while screaming, I smacked that scorpion with Tim's sandal. It didn't die!!! So, I whacked it again SUPER hard and his guts went everywhere! I left that stupid scorpion under the flip flop for Tim to clean up. When he got home I showed him my kill....when he went to lift the sandal it was easy to see that the scorpion had gone into attack mode against Tim's sandal...his stinger was embedded on the bottom of the shoe. So, I think I'm going to get a cat. And, not de-claw it. Our very own, ferocious scorpion hunter. But then, I remember....I'm not a fan of cats. And, our dog already sheds obscene amounts of fur. Guess I'll just be walking around wielding giant flip flops!!!

Sweet Yummy Goodness
Oh, My Bad...I missed your call!
So....I got a call last night from a number I didn't recognize. I listened to the message and it was a man calling about my Harley. He said he was very interested and that he wanted to come see the bike. I "forgot" to call him back. Oops. :o)

To sell or not to sell...that is the question.
I love this bike...I can't wait for it to cool off so I can ride more (or get used to waking up at the crack of dawn to ride when it isn't hellishly hot outside). Whenever it gets too hot, and I can't ride...I think about selling her. I actually have her posted on Craigslist right now....and, I'm secretly hoping that I don't get any calls!

Happy Father's Day, Yummy!
My son is pretty darn lucky. He has his Dad....and although he and I couldn't make it work as a couple, he loves our son. In addition, Little Dude has Tim. You couldn't ask for a better step-dad. (Whether or not he loves the Father's Day gift of "Guess Who" that Little Dude picked out, Tim was able to convince Little Dude that it was AWESOME) I'm forever thankful that Tim is such a great role model. Little Dude will know how to treat a lady when he gets older simply by watching how amazing Tim is to me. He's really stepped-up and is a hands-on parent for our little man. Happy Father's Day, Yummy. Little Dude and I love you so stinkin' much...always and forever...plus a day.

Little Ms. Cranky Pants
I really need to be nicer to my husband! I've been a cranky butthead ALL day....and, he's still so super sweet to me. In return, he's been getting scowls and smart comments. At least I recognized that my attitude just stunk, and I did say "I'm sorry", so it's all good....right?? What I should do...is always remember how I felt at THIS moment....

...and I'll be able to re-think my attitude. I sure do love him!

"For better or worse, in good times and bad"

Derek Norbin Honeywell 11/9/1980-5/18/2010
I knew that I married an amazing man on May 2nd. I knew in my heart that he meant it when he said, "for better or worse, in good times and bad". I just didn't know that this would be put to the test so soon.
You see, my older brother, Derek, passed away on Tuesday, May 18th, 2010 at the age of 29. It was unexpected, and beyond heart-breaking.
Derek and I had a rough couple of years. His son, my nephew, Ashton, passed away in September of 2005. Derek was never the same. He was too proud to admit that maybe he needed to talk with someone...and, he couldn't really come to terms with the fact that it was ok to be sad, devastated, angry...and he took it out on the people that he loved. Luckily, Derek and I started talking a lot back in February. He started making fun of me like a big brother should. He would call to say that he loved me. He came to my wedding and told me that I was beautiful, and that he was so happy for Tim and I. That was the last time I ever saw him.
I talked to Derek after Tim and I returned from our honeymoon. He told me that he never wanted a bad relationship with me again. He said that he wanted to start hanging out more. I hung up the phone, and told Tim how happy that made me.
When I found out that Derek had passed away so suddenly I couldn't really wrap my mind around it. I didn't want to eat. I couldn't stop crying. I felt like I wasn't a good wife. And, I felt like an even worse mom. I kept forgetting to feed Little Dude. It was at this time, I realized that Little Dude wasn't hungry because Tim made sure he still had 3 meals a day. Tim made sure that I had my favorite foods at home and encouraged me to eat. Tim would read Little Dude his good night books and tuck him in. He would hold me in his arms and just let me cry. He didn't leave my side for a week.
I realize how blessed I am to have Tim. He is my rock. He's my best friend. He's my soft place to fall. With him, I don't always have to be strong, or brave. It's not "me against the world". It's Me, and my Husband. My beautiful, amazing, loving, patient, supportive husband.
